Party Cove at night: a light show across the mountains and his film on a giant screen. It’s the show Rick would want you to see. The 3D needs a computer. The film plays on phones too.
Where a lot of us kept our boats and talked late into the night.
Maybe one day your own boat back in your old slip.

Take the boat out
Leave the marina and open it up on the main channel. Stay out for Power Hour.
A wake boat with a tower stereo. Ease off the dock, then open it up.
When the mountains turn pink, that’s Power Hour.

Chase the music to Party Cove
Your people are out there making noise. Follow the noise.
The party plays Rick LeGrand: Party Jams, starting with “Ode to LeGrand”.
Find the flotilla, pull up to the big pontoon and dance with the crew.

Hotel California
The after-dark party house is back, big sign, party deck and all. Fly over the marina at Power Hour and you can’t miss it.
A hot tub, a fire pit and a DJ on the deck. No vacancy, so sleep on the boat.
Find it in Places, just up the hill from the marina.

Wakesurfing, Fingers and a race or two, right there on the water.
Games during your time at the lake, between the boat rides and the party.
Collect stamps in your lake passport as you go.
To: the Apache Lakers we invite
An interactive simulation of the real Apache Lake, built to real scale, for the Apache Lakers we invite. Pay tribute to the friends we’ve lost, take the boat out, fly the canyon, chase the music to the party and play a few games.
Early access. A handful of Apache Lakers are trying it out right now.

TOGETHER
Bring your crew
See your friends’ boats on the water, tie up into a flotilla and hang out together.
Right now the crowd at the cove is made up. One day it could be you and your people, live, from wherever you are.
Pull up, tie off, turn it up.

LakeFest, back on?
Apache Lake had LakeFest for more than 20 years. What if we threw it again, on the virtual lake?
Picture it: one night, everyone logs on. Bands on the stage, boats packed into the cove, old friends in the same place again.
Bring your stickers.

Tribute nights
Rick’s was the first. Light up the canyon together for the people we miss.
Maybe a night for each of them, with their songs, their photos and the people who loved them, all on the lake at once.

Memory books
All of Rick’s photos, quotes and stories in one place on your phone, no film required. Then one for anyone we’ve lost, made by the people who loved them.
Friends add their own photos and stories, and AI could help gather the rest, so it’s not all on one person.
A place to come back to.

PLACES
The marina, in detail
The docks, gas dock, rental dock and both ramps are in. Next could be Schuster Lodge, with Jack’s Landing restaurant and the store, plus the old hotel and the new ones.
Gas up, grab lunch at Jack’s Landing and stock up at the store, all in one stop.
Maybe the hotels, old and new, one day too.

Landmarks you’d know
Indian Head, The Wedge and the spots only Apache Lakers can name, placed where they really are.
The land and water are already real scale. The landmarks you’d point out from the boat could come next.

Sunrise run

MadProps, Hot Mess Express, Blue Water Baby: the crew’s own boats, built for the lake. Take any of them out.
Pick a boat at the dock and drive it. If your boat’s a legend, it could end up here.

GAMES
Race the Apache Trail
Take SR 88 flat out, with none of the real danger. Race up Fish Creek Hill, try to keep it on the road, and maybe top a leaderboard just for the crew.
Cars or dirt bikes. Crawl the narrow climb, romp it, or go off the edge and see what happens.
One day it could be the whole road, Apache Junction to Roosevelt Dam.

GAMES
Tow it up Fish Creek Hill
Anyone who’s towed a boat up Fish Creek Hill knows. A drag-race start at the bottom, a big truck with power to spare, and a trailer that maybe has other plans.
The truck pulls it fine. The real fight is keeping the trailer behind you: no swinging it around, no jackknifing on the narrow dirt.
Bonus if the boat’s still on it at the top.

GAMES
Trophy bass
Bass fishing with your buddies, off the launch at Burnt Corral or out on the boat at first light. Largemouth and smallmouth, and maybe a trophy.
A weigh-in at the dock could put the biggest bass of the weekend on a board for the whole crew to see.
A nine or ten pound hawg? Tall tales welcome.

Golf carts and mini bikes
Cruise the marina like we do: an old four-seat golf cart (tuned fast) or a hopped-up 50cc mini bike, from D Dock to Jack’s Landing to the hotels.
Grown men on tiny bikes. You know the look.
Maybe even right out onto D Dock.

YOUR NEXT STEP
Come out to the lake.
It runs on a computer with a keyboard and mouse. Got an invite? Join there. On your phone? Send yourself the link, or ask an Apache Laker for an invite.
Getting the dock ready…
Welcome to the lake, friend.
This is your lake key. It’s how you get back in on another computer, or if this browser ever forgets you.
Keep it somewhere safe, like your phone’s notes or a password manager. We can’t show it again, but you can make a new one later from your invite page.
Your code stays unused until you join on your computer.
No invite yet? Know an Apache Laker? Ask them for one.
THE LAKE STEREO · OPEN TO EVERYONE
Every jam from the lake. No boat required.
Press play on the songs the party plays at the cove. No invite needed, and it works on your phone.
Every song is an original. Licensing the radio hits costs a fortune, and we’d rather spend it on boat parts. So DJ Jayrod makes our own, inspired by the songs we love.
Warming up the stereo…

Why I’m building this
This is a passion project. I’m building the lake I love with AI, partly to see how far it can go: how real the lake can look and feel, right in a web browser.
It’s for Apache Lakers, not for a big audience. If it only comes alive for the odd event, a LakeFest night or a tribute, that’s fine with me. No ads, no growth targets. I just want to see where it goes.
The main lake will always run in your web browser on a regular computer. No downloads, no gaming PC. And I want to keep adding things to do on your phone.

Built with AI · tested by Apache Lakers
We describe the lake we want: the boats, the music, the people we miss.
AI helps research the real lake and write the code.
Apache Lakers play it, and we keep what feels right.
Honest limits: the land and water are real, the scenery is simplified, and the boats, flyer and party crowd are made up. It’s early, and some things are still rough.
